Course Aim
Together with The National Centre for Suicide Prevention Education and Training (NCSPET) we are delivering more Suicide First Aid training, accredited by City & Guilds to workplaces.
Suicide First Aid Lite, is the UK’s national certification in suicide prevention. Empower your organisation to support your wider wellbeing approach by training your employees in Suicide First Aid.
This half day course is for employees at all levels to build the foundation of suicide awareness, tackle stigma and build confidence to intervene with people at risk of suicide.
This course is suitable for anyone looking to raise their awareness of suicide intervention and provides great additional learning for anyone who has completed a Mental Health Aware course.
Impact of Training
With increasing cases of death by suicide across the UK, it is important that we learn how to spot the signs that someone may be considering dying by suicide.
This training gives participants the knowledge and tools to understand that suicide is one of the most-preventable deaths; Basic skills to help someone with thoughts of suicide to stay safe; knowledge of factors that could contribute to suicide thoughts; how to refer people in crisis towards help which could save their life.
Learners will gain:

Stigma and survivors of bereavement by suicide and the hidden toll

Suicide thoughts and suicide behaviour

Format

Online course structured across two sessions. Each session is 1hr 30min plus breaks

All course materials are digital
-
We limit numbers to 20 people per course so that the instructor can keep people safe and supported while they learn

Learning takes place through an instructor-led live session with group activities and discussions

All participants who complete the course will receive:

The NCSPET value this course at £80 per person.
In-house courses are priced at £1200 for a maximum of 16 participants.
